Four other Danielson Coaches and I met for an initial meeting yesterday afternoon. I expected to understand what being a "Danielson Coach
" will mean this school year, but I was impacted in a different and more meaningful way. Yes, the punch list of tasks was explaine d, but the personal sharing each did affirmed the importance of authentic, human relations. Robert E. Quinn said, "That which you or I think is the most unique about ourselves we hide. In ordinary discourse, in the normal state, we share our common self, our superficial self. Yet what is most unique about us is what has the greatest potential for bonding us. When we share our uniqueness, we discover the commonality in greatness that defines everyone on the planet." I have the highest hope that those with whom I work will be willing/able to share their uniqueness, because I'm willing to listen.
